Kohen Schipper, son of Cory and Jamine Schipper of South Whitley, will attend Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College this fall to study agriculture, agronomy and ag business with plans to pursue a career in agricultural industry. A senior at Whitko Jr./Sr. High School, Schipper is a four-year member of the National Honor Society and has served in multiple leadership roles in the Whitko chapter of the National FFA Organization, including District 2 president. He’s also active in 4-H, student council, and livestock- judging teams. Teachers and mentors describe him as a humble, goal-driven leader with a passion for agriculture and a positive influence on those around him.
Betsy Baumgartner, daughter of Max and Jaime Baumgartner of Fort Wayne, will attend Purdue University this fall to study biomedical health sciences to pursue a career in the medical field. A senior at Homestead High School, Baumgartner is a member of the National Honor Society, a peer tutor, and a participant in several school activities including tennis, cheerleading, Riley Dance Marathon, Heather’s Closet, and the distinguished honor roll. In letters of recommendation, Baumgartner was praised for her compassion, intrinsic motivation, and exceptional character. Teachers described her as an eager learner, thoughtful leader, and dependable role model whose positive attitude and strong work ethic set her apart.
