Approved Meter Boxes

Meter Socket / Breaker Combination Cabinets

Side by side meter socket- 200 Amp Main Breaker

Meter socket / breaker combination cabinets must be in a side by side configuration, meter socket / breaker combination cabinets with the meter socket over the main breaker will not be allowed unless the service is fed overhead).

Meter base (underground services)

Standard - Milbank -100/200 amp

Meter bases must be of the following type

  • Must be UL listed
  • Must be designed for the installation (overhead/underground)
  • 100 amp underground services must use a 200 amp meter base
  • Have a ringless cover
  • Provide some type of bypass (Horns or Lever)
  • Must be rated to carry the full current of the service (exception 320 Amp bases can be used for 400 Amp single phase residential services)
