Scholarship opportunities
Calling all high school seniors! Northeastern REMC will be selecting two students from eligible applicants to receive $1000 college scholarships!
To apply, the student must meet the qualifications listed, complete and return the application and provide the necessary documents outlined.
Selection criteria will be based on scholastic achievement, school involvement, community involvement, and recommendations. The student must be a graduating senior, accepted to an accredited college or university, and a full-time dependent of a current REMC member.
Northeastern REMC is proud to offer this scholarship program. There is no better way to support our community than to encourage our local students to pursue higher education. Selection criteria will be based on academic achievement, school involvement, community involvement, and recommendations.
Submit your application by April 5, 2024
- Applicant must be a public, private or home-schooled graduating high school senior in the current school year.
- Applicant’s parents/guardians must be members of Northeastern REMC. The member must be in good standing for at least 12 consecutive months as of the application deadline.
- The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college or university (two or four years).
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. All students must submit an official transcript to verify the accuracy of GPA.
Scholarships are for one year. Therefore, the applicant may only receive one Northeastern REMC scholarship.
Relatives of Northeastern REMC employees and board members are not eligible to apply.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
All students must submit:
- an official transcript to verify accuracy of GPA (If selected, you must supply an official transcript in a sealed envelope from your school.)
- two letters of recommendation from high school staff, coaches, civic/business leaders, or clergy. (Letters from relatives are not accepted)
- a high-resolution headshot/photograph (school pictures are acceptable) must be included for publicity purposes
